Business Analyst – Agentic AI Applications
We are partnering with a forward-thinking organization to identify a Business Analyst – Agentic AI Applications who will help shape how AI-powered applications are designed, governed, tested, and adopted across the business.
This role sits at the intersection of business process analysis, AI product design, governance, and user enablement. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify where agentic AI can improve workflows, define how AI agents should operate, and ensure those solutions behave safely and effectively in real-world use.
The ideal candidate understands both the business and technical sides of AI-enabled workflow transformation and can turn complex operational needs into clear requirements for autonomous and semi-autonomous applications.
What You'll Own
AI Use Case & Process Discovery
- Partner with business teams to understand current workflows, pain points, and opportunities for intelligent automation.
- Map existing processes and identify areas where agentic AI can reduce manual work, improve speed, or support better decision-making.
- Translate business needs into clearly defined objectives, expected outcomes, and measurable success criteria for AI-enabled applications.
- Help distinguish where AI agents should act independently versus where human review or intervention is required.
Agent Behavior & Business Requirements
- Define clear operating boundaries for AI agents, including:
- Permitted actions
- Decision authority
- Escalation points
- Exception handling
- Human review requirements
- Safety controls
- Document business rules and workflow logic that guide how AI applications interact with users and enterprise processes.
- Work with technical teams to ensure agent behavior aligns with business expectations and operational realities.
Testing & Validation
- Lead user acceptance testing for AI-driven applications.
- Develop business scenarios and test cases to validate agent behavior across expected and exception-based workflows.
- Evaluate whether AI outputs, decisions, and escalations meet agreed business requirements.
- Capture issues, unexpected behaviors, and user feedback and translate them into actionable improvements.
AI Governance & Risk
- Help establish governance practices for the use of agentic AI across business workflows.
- Define auditability and traceability requirements for AI-driven actions and decisions.
- Support the development of controls around risk, compliance, escalation, and responsible AI use.
- Ensure AI applications operate within clearly documented business and governance boundaries.
Stakeholder Enablement
- Serve as a bridge between business users, product teams, engineers, and other technical stakeholders.
- Communicate AI capabilities, constraints, and tradeoffs in clear business terms.
- Train users and stakeholders on how AI applications should be used and where human judgment remains necessary.
- Support adoption by setting realistic expectations around the strengths and limitations of AI-enabled workflows.
What We're Looking For
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, with particular knowledge of agentic AI, autonomous workflows, and AI-driven applications.
- Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or comparable technologies.
- Strong experience with business process mapping, workflow analysis, and requirements definition.
- Ability to define business rules, decision boundaries, escalation paths, and safety controls for AI agents.
- Understanding of AI governance, risk management, compliance, and auditability.
- Experience leading or supporting user acceptance testing for technology or AI-enabled applications.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to translate complex AI capabilities into clear business requirements and practical operating models.
