Head of Sales, Los Angeles, CA

We’re partnering with a premium cycling brand in search of a dynamic Head of Retail to lead operations, sales performance, and customer experience at their Los Angeles flagship. This is an active, hands-on role suited for someone who thrives on driving results, building relationships, and leading from the front of the sales floor.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial instincts, a natural ability to connect with customers, and the confidence to follow through on every opportunity. If you’re the type who prefers to act rather than delegate, you’ll excel in this environment.

What You’ll Do

Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Take full ownership of retail sales targets and deliver strong, measurable results.
  • Engage every walk-in with curiosity and enthusiasm, understanding each rider’s needs to guide them toward the right products.
  • Actively follow up on leads from quotes, test rides, and online inquiries, ensuring no opportunity goes cold.
  • Maintain consistent communication with customers by phone to provide updates, service check-ins, and personalized recommendations.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities by staying well-versed in the brand’s bikes, gear, and accessories.

Store Operations & Merchandising

  • Oversee store presentation, ensuring displays, product layout, and merchandising reflect a premium retail experience.
  • Serve as a key-holder responsible for opening, closing, and maintaining daily floor readiness.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and product availability at all times.

Inventory & Vendor Management

  • Monitor and manage stock levels through the POS system (Lightspeed experience preferred).
  • Coordinate purchase orders, compare vendor pricing, and track incoming shipments.
  • Audit deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and manage vendor communication with professionalism.

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Lead by example, clearly communicate daily priorities, and hold the team accountable for execution.
  • Foster an energetic, collaborative, and customer-focused retail culture.
  • Set boundaries and maintain professionalism with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

What Success Looks Like

  • The sales floor feels energized, focused, and productive.
  • Customers leave confident and cared for, not just helped.
  • Inventory, displays, and merchandising are consistently polished and up to date.
  • The team operates smoothly with clear communication and purpose.
  • Sales performance meets or exceeds targets month over month.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in a retail leadership or sales management role (cycling or high-end specialty retail strongly preferred).
  • Prior experience managing a team or department.
  • Solid understanding of bicycles and related products (road, gravel, or MTB).
  • Proficiency with retail POS and inventory tools (Lightspeed a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills, confident decision-making, and a proactive approach.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is helpful but not required.

Compensation & Perks

  • Base Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 (depending on experience)
  • Commission Potential: $30,000–$54,000 annually based on individual and store performance
  • Total Earnings Potential: Up to $95,000+ annually for top performers
  • Monthly commission payouts tied directly to sales metrics
  • Exclusive employee discounts on bikes and gear
  • Access to demo equipment and cycling events
  • Clear path for advancement within a growing, performance-driven retail brand

This is an opportunity to join one of Los Angeles’ premier cycling brands where passion for the ride meets premium retail excellence.
