
Sales Director (Player-Coach)
The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a growing manufacturer focused on custom-engineered components for industrial OEMs. This is a highly technical, project-based environment—not transactional sales.
This is a player-coach role, combining hands-on business development with leadership and process-building responsibilities in a highly technical, engineering-driven sales environment. This is a zero-to-one build role, where the Sales Director will initially operate as an individual contributor (hunter) while simultaneously building the commercial infrastructure and future team.
What You’ll Do
- Drive new business (OEM accounts, full-cycle sales)
- Sell complex, custom solutions to engineering stakeholders
- Build pipeline structure, forecasting, and CRM discipline
- Partner with engineering, operations, and marketing
- Help scale the commercial team over time
What They’re Looking For
- 7–10+ years of B2B sales experience
- Minimum 3+ years in a sales leadership or player-coach role
- Proven experience selling to engineering stakeholders (engineers, technical buyers) in a consultative or custom solution environments.
- Experience with long sales cycles (12+ months)
- Player-coach mindset, hands-on and entrepreneurial
Comp & Details
- $130K base / Up to $170K–$200K OTE
- Strong benefits + 401(k) match
