JOB DESCRIPTION


The IT Manager will own day-to-day IT leadership and operations, enabling senior technology leadership to focus on higher-impact strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for leading a newly structured IT team, managing vendors and systems, and ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across a global, remote organization.

The role requires a balance of people leadership, operational ownership, and hands-on technical involvement when necessary.

Approximate focus:

  • 65–75% leadership, coordination, and oversight
  • 25–35% hands-on technical review (logic, workflows, escalations)

 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


IT Operations & Leadership

  • Own daily IT operations across a global, remote workforce
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team through regular 1:1s, feedback, and performance reviews
  • Establish, track, and report IT KPIs (system uptime, SLAs, incident response, automation ROI)
  • Lead IT operations in a fast-paced, scaling environment


Infrastructure, Systems & Security

  • Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 environment (Entra ID/Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint, endpoint management)
  • Maintain cybersecurity hygiene and manage the primary cybersecurity vendor
  • Ensure data protection, access control, and lifecycle management


Vendor & Contract Management

  • Own and manage key vendor and MSP relationships
  • Oversee contracts, SLAs, renewals, and vendor performance


CRM & Systems Ownership

  • Administer and own CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho Recruit)
  • Drive system integrations, automation, documentation, and system scalability


Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with senior leadership on AI and automation initiatives
  • Support IT policy writing, lifecycle planning, and budget planning
  • Lead technical readiness for new tools introduced across departments




REQUIREMENTS


Must-Haves


  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations or systems management
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience (flexible for strong trajectory candidates)
  • Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience (Entra ID/Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint, endpoint security)
  • Cloud/SaaS-focused background (no traditional on-prem networking focus)
  • CRM administration experience (beyond end-user level)
  • Proven vendor and MSP management experience
  • Strong English fluency (clarity and vocabulary required)
  • Comfortable reviewing code and logic (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
  • Trust-first, non-micromanaging leadership style
  • Comfortable leading through change and pushing back when needed


Nice-to-Haves


  • ITIL or Microsoft certifications
  • Familiarity with data privacy and compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of data analytics


Not a Fit


  • Pure cybersecurity or traditional networking-focused profiles
  • Candidates from large enterprises without hands-on or startup adaptability
  • Poor English communication
  • Leaders who struggle with pace, ambiguity, or change


 

EDUCATION


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications are a plus.



COMPENSATION PACKAGE


Salary: $3,500 USD per month

Contractor role

Paid monthly via Payoneer
