JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a high-ownership Project Manager to lead the overall direction of construction projects and serve as a key member of the Operations department. In this role, you will scale with our project volume and complexity, solving operational execution and schedule control challenges over the next 6–12 months.
As a critical leadership figure, you will be responsible for establishing project objectives, maintaining prime client relationships, and monitoring both construction and financial activities. Reporting directly to Operations Leadership, you will work in close partnership with Preconstruction, Field Supervisors, and Subcontractors to ensure successful multi-project delivery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Project Leadership: Direct the day-to-day management of multiple large-scale construction projects from initiation to close-out.
● Contract & Financial Administration: Lead all activities related to contract administration, change orders, procurement, and financial reporting.
● Schedule Control: Manage and determine project objectives, policies, and procedures to ensure all milestones are met on time.
● Buyout & Procurement: Complete the buyout process for subcontractors and vendors to ensure project resources are secured.
● Client Liaison: Initiate and maintain professional relationships with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure high satisfaction.
● Technical Advisory: Provide assistance with the interpretation of drawings, construction methods, and equipment needs.
● Status Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly job status reports outlining project priorities, financial health, and potential issues.
● Bid Assistance: Support the preconstruction team by assisting with the preparation of bids and proposal submissions.
● Site Coordination: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality, and manage on-site PMs or Construction Managers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
● Leadership: 5+ years of experience managing other project managers or staff.
● Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
● Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience with small base building (retail, banks) and commercial base building projects.
● Market Exposure: Prior experience operating within the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) market.
● Project Mastery: Proven ability to manage project-related paperwork and maintain rigorous schedule control.
● Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to establish rapport with clients and vendors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Field Background: Strong on-site or field-based construction background.
● Multi-Project Capability: Experience simultaneously managing multiple large-scale projects.
● Tech Stack: Proficiency with estimating tools, scheduling software, and construction management platforms.
● Versatility: Background supporting multiple diverse areas of construction.
COMPENSATION
● Base Salary: $110k/ year

WORKING CONDITIONS
● Location: Fully onsite in Largo, MD.
● Environment: Split between office (~30%) and project sites (~70%).
● Travel: Local travel across DMV project sites is required.
