JOB DESCRIPTION
Our company is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to provide field leadership across commercial construction projects throughout the DMV region. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining schedule commitments. We’re looking for an experienced commercial construction professional who thrives in the field, embraces technology, and can effectively coordinate subcontractors while partnering closely with Project Managers and General Superintendents.
This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful institutional projects while positioning yourself for future advancement into a General Superintendent role as the organization continues to grow. It’s ideal for a Superintendent III or emerging Lead Superintendent looking to step into broader project leadership responsibilities within a growing commercial GC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of assigned project scopes and field operations.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners to ensure work progresses according to schedule.
- Monitor construction activities to maintain quality standards and project specifications.
- Enforce and promote jobsite safety practices and conduct regular safety inspections.
- Maintain accurate project documentation using Procore and other project management tools.
- Track and communicate daily progress updates to Project Managers and leadership teams.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues proactively.
- Participate in coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, and partner general contractors.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and scope requirements to ensure proper execution.
- Support schedule execution and milestone achievement.
- Foster productive relationships with subcontractors while maintaining accountability.
- Represent WarrenBuilds professionally with clients, partners, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing field operations on complex commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, sequencing, and coordination.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades simultaneously.
- Proficiency with construction technology platforms and digital documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia corridor.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
MUST HAVES
- 7+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience (high-performing candidates with slightly less experience may be considered).
- Experience working on commercial projects within a General Contractor or commercial subcontractor environment.
- Strong adoption of construction technology and digital project management tools. Candidates who prefer paper-based systems or resist technology will not be successful in this environment
- Proficiency with Procore or comparable construction management software.
- Strong working knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
- Ability to take direction from Project Managers and partner General Superintendents while confidently leading field teams.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to earn respect from subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Coachable mindset and openness to feedback: humble, excited about construction, continuous learning.
- Comfortable receiving direction from PMs and partner GC leadership.
- Willingness to travel across the full DMV region.
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (no visa sponsorship available).
NICE TO HAVE
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience serving as both a Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Background working on schools and educational facilities, government projects, institutional facilities, and science and laboratory environments
- Bluebeam experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
- Experience working for larger commercial General Contractors.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Base Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Bonus Opportunity: Participation in a bonus pool based on overall organizational performance.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Arrangement: 100% onsite, field-based position.

Project Locations: Throughout Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia.

Primary Coverage Area: Prince George's County through Baltimore, with flexibility to support projects across the DMV corridor.

Schedule: Standard construction site hours, with flexibility based on project needs and milestones.

Travel: Regular local travel required throughout the DMV region.
