Senior Garment Technologist - £50-£65k
Premium lifestyle brand is looking for a Senior Garment Technologist to lead the full fit, quality, and compliance process across all categories and brands. From WW to MW to Childrenswear, Nightwear, and Home, you’ll ensure every product looks and feels exceptional, meets compliance standards, and delivers consistency for our customers. This is a senior, hands-on role balancing garment technology expertise with leadership and supplier management. You’ll work closely with Design, Buying, and E-commerce teams while developing junior talent and driving technical excellence across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the fit process across all brands and categories, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Lead fit sessions, managing model bookings, budgets, and follow-up fit comments.
- Review and update block measurements, grading, and construction each season.
- Maintain and manage the company block library once styles are sealed.
- Partner with Buying & Design from sketch to final product, creating development measurement specifications.
- Risk assess product quality and escalate issues where required.
- Oversee testing manuals and test reports across all categories, supporting Junior Technologists in decision-making.
- Ensure washcare standards are accurate and compliant, liaising with Buying when needed.
- Manage the UK QC process, guiding junior team members and liaising with suppliers to resolve issues quickly.
- Monitor and analyse customer returns and quality issues, implementing corrective actions.
- Lead compliance processes including chemical compliance.
- Keep the business updated on regulatory and industry changes.
- Liaise daily with global suppliers to resolve fit, measurement, and quality challenges.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Manage and develop the garment technology team, providing guidance and training.
- Partner with E-commerce to ensure customer-facing sizing guides remain accurate and up to date.
Skills & Experience
- Expert knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, and manufacturing.
- Strong multi-category experience: softs, woven, denim essential.
- Experience across Womenswear, Menswear, and Childrenswear.
- Solid knowledge of global compliance standards.
- Understanding of both wholesale and direct-to-consumer critical paths.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing a high workload effectively.
- Experienced in managing international suppliers and navigating cultural differences.
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing, multi-brand environment.
