Why this role

This is an opportunity to join a large-scale, technically advanced infrastructure manufacturing environment where quality is treated as a core business function — not an afterthought.

You’ll work closely with senior quality leadership in a hands-on, high-visibility role, supporting complex infrastructure projects while building toward future leadership responsibility. This role is ideal for a Quality Engineer who wants more ownership, technical depth, and a clear path into a Quality Manager position.

What you’ll be doing

Project & Product Quality Oversight

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to define inspection and testing requirements
  • Develop and maintain project-specific Quality Control Plans, inspection schedules, and documentation
  • Integrate quality milestones into production and project timelines
  • Conduct quality reviews at critical hold points across manufacturing
  • Ensure full traceability of materials, inspections, and test results
  • Prepare, sign, and seal Certificates of Conformance (QVE responsibilities)
  • Review precast and production quality reports

Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Management Systems
  • Manage NCRs, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures
  • Track quality metrics and prepare reports for leadership review

Collaboration & Training

  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to support daily production
  • Assist in developing SOPs and work instructions
  • Support training initiatives for QC staff
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

Compliance & External Coordination

  • Support compliance with CSA, AWWA, NSF-61, CPCQA, BNQ, OPSS, and Schedule A requirements
  • Assist with audits, certifications, and third-party inspections
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and inspection agencies on technical matters

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • P.Eng. designation
  • 3+ years of Quality Control experience within precast or concrete manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of CSA A23.1/2, CSA A23.4, OPSS standards
  • Hands-on experience with concrete QC testing (AVS, RCP, salt scaling, compressive strength, flexural beams, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication details
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills
  • Confident communicator who collaborates well across technical and production teams

Why people stay

  • Clear growth path into senior quality leadership
  • Well-funded quality program with executive support
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
  • Pension matching program
  • Education and professional development support
  • Modern manufacturing environment with advanced technology
  • Stable, long-term infrastructure project pipeline
