What you’ll be doing
Project & Product Quality Oversight
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to define inspection and testing requirements
- Develop and maintain project-specific Quality Control Plans, inspection schedules, and documentation
- Integrate quality milestones into production and project timelines
- Conduct quality reviews at critical hold points across manufacturing
- Ensure full traceability of materials, inspections, and test results
- Prepare, sign, and seal Certificates of Conformance (QVE responsibilities)
- Review precast and production quality reports
Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Management Systems
- Manage NCRs, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
- Collaborate with plant leadership to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures
- Track quality metrics and prepare reports for leadership review
Collaboration & Training
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to support daily production
- Assist in developing SOPs and work instructions
- Support training initiatives for QC staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Compliance & External Coordination
- Support compliance with CSA, AWWA, NSF-61, CPCQA, BNQ, OPSS, and Schedule A requirements
- Assist with audits, certifications, and third-party inspections
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and inspection agencies on technical matters
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- P.Eng. designation
- 3+ years of Quality Control experience within precast or concrete manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of CSA A23.1/2, CSA A23.4, OPSS standards
- Hands-on experience with concrete QC testing (AVS, RCP, salt scaling, compressive strength, flexural beams, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication details
- Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills
- Confident communicator who collaborates well across technical and production teams
