Construction Litigation Clerk

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Litigation Clerk to join their growing litigation team. This is a net new position, created in response to continued growth and an expanding construction litigation practice. It is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and enjoys working on complex construction disputes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex construction litigation files from start to finish
  • Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, affidavits, motion materials, and trial documents
  • Coordinate discoveries, mediations, arbitrations, and pre-trial conferences
  • Prepare and manage document production, briefs of documents, and undertakings charts
  • Organize and maintain large volumes of technical and contractual documentation
  • Assist with construction lien matters, including registration and discharge of liens
  • Monitor and manage litigation deadlines and limitation periods
  • Handle court filings (including e-filing, as applicable)
  • Liaise with clients, experts, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties
  • Prepare trial records, compendiums, and books of authorities
  • Provide trial and hearing support as required
  • Mentor junior clerks and contribute to workflow and process improvements


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Litigation Clerk, with strong exposure to construction litigation
  • In-depth knowledge of civil procedure rules and construction lien legislation
  • Experience managing complex, document-intensive matters
  • Proficiency with litigation management software and e-discovery platforms
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Law Clerk diploma or equivalent certification preferred
