Our municipal client has a strong reputation of quality and effective service delivery, efficient operations, healthy and supportive culture with low sector turnover. This Municipality wishes to fill this Finance Director / Treasurer vacancy as promptly as possible within an effective and thorough search recruitment process to hire the best - with a target start in September / October (if not sooner). The Finance Director reports directly to the Municipality's CAO while also a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT); the Director also leads a small team with about 3.5 staff.



Ideal Finance Director / Treasure candidates will likely have many of the following attributes:


  • 10+ years progressive, breadth and depth of finance technical & leadership skills & experience (eg, reporting, budgeting & planning, analysis), strong finance team leadership and management - plus ideally 2+ years municipality sector leadership
  • A CPA in good standing, plus likely a relevant degree (eg, BComm, BBA) or equilivant
  • Some strong Treasury technical and leadership skills are a "must have" - plus some payroll and Taxation too
  • Good coaching and mentoring abilities with staff, some proven influencing skills with peers and other leaders
  • You build and foster strong, trusting relationships - along with solid communication skills
