Senior Project Manager – Retail Development & Construction (Toronto, GTA)

Our client is a fully integrated real estate developer and general contractor delivering retail plaza and mixed-use commercial projects across the Greater Toronto Area. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead projects from pre-development through construction and closeout, with typical project values up to $25M.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of retail plaza and commercial projects (site plan approvals through to turnover)
• Manage consultants, entitlements, permits, and municipal coordination across the GTA
• Oversee budgeting, scheduling, tendering, and contract administration
• Direct construction execution alongside internal teams and subcontractors
• Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining cost and schedule control
• Coordinate tenant requirements, fit-outs, and landlord work delivery
• Provide regular project reporting to senior leadership

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of experience in commercial construction or development
• Demonstrated experience delivering retail plazas, shopping centres, or mixed-use commercial projects
• Strong knowledge of the GTA planning/approvals process and Ontario Building Code
• Experience managing projects in the $5M–$25M range
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project)
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
