Mold Maintenance Repair Technician

Skilled Trades — Tooling & Mold Maintenance


Position: Mold Maintenance Technician (2 positions)

Pay Grade: $45.34 / hour

Reporting To: Mold Maintenance Lead

Location: Belleville, ON


General Responsibilities

  • Ensure all assigned Mold Repair Orders are logged into the CMMS system and completed in a timely manner.
  • Work with Production Supervisors to prioritize tool repairs when required on night shifts and weekends.
  • Maintain all spare parts for tools and necessary operating supplies for the area as assigned.
  • Maintain tool drawings and specific tool repair procedures for each tool.
  • Inspect new tools with tooling engineers to ensure that tools are built to required standards.
  • Keep accurate records of changes and maintenance on molds.
  • Complete routine preventative maintenance on molds and related equipment.
  • Fabricate and maintain fixtures.
  • Maintain End of Arm (EOA) tooling.
  • Travel between plants and to off-site training locations in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including any reasonable requests by management.


Qualifications

  • Licensed Mold Maker, Millwright, Tool & Die Maker, or Machinist (required).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a related field with a strong technical background (required).

  • Familiar with and a good understanding of industrial processes and machinery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Comfortable working around equipment and machinery.
  • Familiar with and understand the requirements to lock out equipment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize many different tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to different situations.
  • Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills.


Physical Demands & Working Environment

  • Normal amount of standing; ability to move and walk around the production floor.
  • Ability to work at a computer workstation.
  • Ability to bend, twist, lift, and reach.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to travel between plants and to off-site training locations in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.


Additional Information

This position will require a certain amount of training, both in-house and off-site. As part of the selection process, candidates will complete different types of testing targeting the required experience and personal attributes.
