Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor – Welding & Machining

Hamilton, ON

Monday to Thursday | 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

$35 plus $2 Shift Premium



Our client is seeking an Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor to lead welding, fabrication, machining, and assembly operations at its Hamilton manufacturing facility. This hands-on leader will coordinate the shift’s workflow, support the team, and ensure production targets are met safely and to quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Plan daily work and assign tasks to welders, machinists, and assemblers.
• Welding and fitting experience required
• Monitor production progress and material flow to keep work on schedule.
• Lead, coach, and train shift employees, addressing staffing and operational issues as they arise.
• Conduct safety walks and ensure shop practices meet health, safety, and applicable welding standards.
• Review completed work for quality and help resolve production issues.
• Support troubleshooting of machinery, welding equipment, and automated systems.
• Complete production reports, document incidents and maintenance needs, and provide clear handovers to the day shift.

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing, welding, fabrication, or machine shop environment.
• Strong understanding of welding symbols, blueprints and shop drawings, machining processes, and metal fabrication.
• Ability to lead a team, resolve conflicts, and communicate across departments.
• Basic computer skills for production tracking and reporting.
• CWB certification or experience working to CWB standards is an asset.
