Position Overview
The Site Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day on-site execution of new ground-up retail builds and other ICI developments. Working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal leadership, the Superintendent will play an integral role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site construction activities for new builds and renovations within the ICI sector from mobilization through occupancy and closeout.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, trades, and site personnel to ensure schedule milestones are achieved.
- Maintain and enforce site health & safety standards in accordance with OHSA, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, monitor, and update detailed construction schedules in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Conduct regular site meetings, toolbox talks, and progress updates with trades and stakeholders.
- Ensure workmanship meets drawings, specifications, building code requirements, and quality expectations.
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively, including scheduling conflicts, design discrepancies, and trade coordination challenges.
- Track site productivity, manpower, deliveries, deficiencies, and daily reports.
- Coordinate inspections, permits, occupancy requirements, and project closeout documentation.
- Foster a professional, organized, and high-performing jobsite culture.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3-7+ years of relevant experience as a Site Superintendent within ICI or commercial construction (retail ground-up experience considered a strong asset).
- Proven track record successfully managing full-cycle commercial construction projects from excavation to turnover.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, building systems, and trade coordination.
- Thorough knowledge of Ontario building codes, health & safety legislation, and site compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with construction technology platforms (such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or equivalent).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to thrive both independently and within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites across the GTA and surrounding regions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary ranging from $110,000 – $150,000 + bonus, commensurate with experience and project background.
