Senior Bookkeeper (QuickBooks)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks experience to join the finance team of a large healthcare organization that oversees multiple healthcare service lines and affiliated entities.
This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple companies operating under one organizational umbrella. The Senior Bookkeeper will work closely with the Controller while also overseeing and supporting a Junior Bookkeeper.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys managing financial organization, maintaining clean books, and working within a multi-entity healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
QuickBooks & General Ledger
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
- Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Maintain organized and accurate general ledger records
- Support month-end close activities
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts and credit cards
- Identify discrepancies and resolve posting issues
- Ensure accurate classification of transactions
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices and payments
- Track outstanding liabilities and payment schedules
- Maintain organized vendor documentation
Payroll Entries
- Record payroll journal entries in QuickBooks
- Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger
- Coordinate with payroll providers when needed
- (This role does not process payroll directly.)
Multi-Entity Accounting
- Maintain financial records across multiple related entities
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Ensure proper allocations between entities
Team Support
- Oversee and support a Junior Bookkeeper
- Help maintain strong accounting processes and organization
- Assist with workflow improvements and financial documentation
Qualifications
Required
- Strong QuickBooks experience (Online or Desktop)
- 3–5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred
- Experience working with multi-entity organizations or umbrella companies
- Experience supporting month-end close
- Experience recording payroll journal entries
