Position Overview
We are seeking a Post-Closing Specialist to join our Post-Purchase Operations team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring loans are accurately reviewed, compliant, and delivered to investors within required timelines. The position involves managing pipeline movement, curing investor conditions, and partnering with our Secondary team to support smooth settlement of trades.
This is a detail-oriented, fast-paced role where accuracy, accountability, and collaboration are key.
Key Responsibilities
- Review closed loan files for compliance and completeness before delivery to investors.
- Assist in clearing conditions placed on loans by investors or due diligence firms to expedite loan settlement.
- Manage pipeline movement to ensure loans progress through the post-closing process according to the intended exit strategy.
- Coordinate with Secondary Marketing to validate pricing, resolve exceptions, and manage settlement of trades.
- Work as a transaction manager in the settlement of large trades with investors.
- Maintain detailed tracking of deficiencies, trailing documents, and exception resolution.
- Generate reports and updates for management regarding pipeline status, exceptions, and delivery timelines.
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Post-Closing, Secondary, or related mortgage operations.
- Strong knowledge of compliance requirements, document review, and investor delivery standards.
- Experience with Non-QM products preferred.
- Proficiency with LOS and loan delivery systems; familiarity with investor portals and due diligence processes a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and maintain accuracy in high-volume environments.
