Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mortgage Operations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mortgage loan servicing, including collections, loan boarding, transfers, investor reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in loan servicing operations and collections, with a strong understanding of mortgage regulations, investor guidelines, and industry compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities


Loan Servicing, Payment Processing & Collections

  • Process and monitor loan payments, payoffs, and escrow transactions
  • Maintain accurate records and manage escrow accounts, including tax and insurance disbursements
  • Ensure compliance with investor and regulatory requirements
  • Contact borrowers regarding past-due payments and establish repayment solutions
  • Negotiate payment arrangements within company policies
  • Document all borrower communications accurately
  • Manage EPDs to prevent loan repurchases


Loan Boarding & Transfers

  • Accurately onboard new loans to the sub-servicer, ensuring complete and verified data
  • Process loan transfers with thorough data validation and reconciliation
  • Coordinate with prior and new servicers to ensure smooth, seamless transfers
  • Maintain compliance with investor requirements and regulatory guidelines throughout the process

 

Mortgage Servicing & Customer Support

  • Assist borrowers with questions related to payments, escrow accounts, and delinquencies
  • Support servicing functions such as payment research, loan histories, and account updates
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state mortgage servicing regulations (RESPA, FDCPA, CFPB, etc.)
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency


Investor Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly investor reports on time
  • Reconcile loan balances, remittances, and custodial accounts for reporting purposes
  • Collaborate with accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and reconcile investor accounts
  • Support audits, regulatory filings, and other compliance-related reporting


Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years in loan servicing, collections, and mortgage servicing, preferably in mortgage lending.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of mortgage loan products, servicing guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technology: Proficiency in loan servicing software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
