Job Title:                    Electrical Specialist (ELS)

Training Rate:            $38.97

 

SUMMARY

The Electrical Specialist position is an hourly position, and reports to the Electrical Supervisor. The employee acts as a process expert for this multi-functional craft dealing with electrical, electronic, and instrument specialist responsibilities. This includes reacting to process and equipment issues, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as eliminating special cause variation while driving safety & quality and optimizing plant efficiency.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs precision work utilizing machines, equipment and measuring instruments of this multi-functional job
  • Ensures availability of required items &/or inventory in the storeroom using SAP
  • Utilizes journeyman multi-functional electrical, electronic, and instrument functions in order to preserve and optimize plant assets and to meet the needs of manufacturing
  • Provides support to other craft and non-craft employees in the performance of maintenance tasks
  • Cooperates with others to plan and perform operational maintenance to machinery and equipment associated with plant operations
  • Performs the job of trainer for apprentice and other craft personnel as related to craft work.
  • Assists with the developmental and/or experimental projects
  • Performs and documents necessary CILT
  • Utilizes computer expertise to complete records and reports and manage data (includes SAP, work orders, failure & trend analysis sheets, checklists, requisitions, audit sheets, etc.)
  • Uses forklift, manlift, scissor lift, and other aerial lifting devices
  • Ensures a safe work environment through following safety protocols, wearing proper PPE, performing general housekeeping tasks, and participating in safety/5S area audit
  • Assists with training
  • Supports TPM activities including attending, participating, and updating daily management board

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES

The employee must be able to:

  • Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be proficient in SAP system and Rockwell Automation programming software
  • Utilize plant Tag system in order to communicate any issues

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associates degree in the electrical field preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in industrial electrical environment preferred
  • Related experience and/or training in an industrial environment
  • Must be 18 years or older

This position requires:

  • Regular attendance on site
  • Ability to work varying or rotating shifts
  • Must be drug and alcohol free
  • Wearing respirator protection – frequently (as needed per task)
  • Exposure to hot/cold temperature- continuously
  • Exposure to noise- continuously
  • Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds
  • Standing- continuously
  • Ascending/descending stairs - frequently
  • Hand/Eye Coordination– continuously
  • Walking – continuously
  • Twisting- continuously
  • Ascending/descending ladders- occasionally
  • Kneeling- frequently
