Job Duties
- Architect and implement real-time monitoring and control software for advanced additive manufacturing platforms.
- Integrate hardware systems—sensors, actuators, and control loops—into cohesive software solutions that enable closed-loop precision.
- Develop motion control, extrusion logic, and thermal coordination for next-gen composite printing systems.
- Build connectivity between printers and cloud-based platforms for data acquisition, performance analytics, and system traceability.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers on end-to-end system integration in both lab and factory environments.
- Design and test software for smart factory operations, including scheduling, process quality, and scaling to multi-printer production fleets.
- Establish robust test coverage, software reliability standards, and performance benchmarks suitable for high-stakes manufacturing.
- Evaluate frameworks, protocols, and architectures that balance real-time responsiveness with maintainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in robotics, manufacturing, or industrial automation.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: Rust, Python, C/C++, or embedded programming.
- Strong understanding of motion control, real-time systems, and algorithm integration.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., ROS, G-code, OPC UA, Modbus).
- Experience working directly with sensors, actuators, and controllers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across mechanical, electrical, and cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
Preferred Experience
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field.
- Background in extrusion-based additive manufacturing, CNC machines, or robotic arms.
- Knowledge of IIoT systems, smart factory platforms, or industrial software architecture.
- Familiarity with aerospace/defense manufacturing requirements for traceability and process control.
- Experience with ERP/MRP platforms or integrations.
