Opportunity Summary

Join a venture backed advanced manufacturing company scaling industrial grade composite production for aerospace and defense applications. This organization is commercializing a breakthrough additive manufacturing platform that enables full scale fabrication of high performance thermoset and ceramic composite structures using automated, data driven factory systems. We are seeking a hands on Manufacturing Engineer who will play a central role in launching and improving an industrial scale composite 3D printing facility. You will operate CNC and additive systems while also developing processes, designing tooling, and driving production efficiency. This is a floor engaged engineering role with real ownership over how hardware transitions from early prototypes into stable, repeatable production.

Job Duties

  • Run and optimize CNC mills and lathes for machining of composite and advanced material components
  • Execute trimming, drilling, finishing, and post processing operations on additively manufactured parts
  • Support operation, setup, and troubleshooting of robotic additive manufacturing systems
  • Assist with material preparation and composite paste mixing processes
  • Develop and improve scalable production processes for composite hardware
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on yield, throughput, cost reduction, and cycle time
  • Evaluate production data to identify constraints and implement corrective actions
  • Design and refine machining fixtures, jigs, and workholding solutions
  • Collaborate with design engineering to apply Design for Manufacturability best practices
  • Create and maintain work instructions, control plans, and manufacturing documentation
  • Perform dimensional inspection using standard metrology tools to verify compliance with aerospace specifications
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Support new product introduction by transitioning hardware from prototype builds into repeatable production
  • Contribute to capacity planning, workflow optimization, and equipment utilization strategies
  • Work cross functionally with quality, engineering, and operations teams to resolve manufacturing issues


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or upcoming graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of machining, manufacturing, or technician experience including internships or hands on projects
  • Experience operating CNC mills and or lathes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerance requirements
  • Exposure to machining, fabrication, additive manufacturing, or composite production environments
  • Strong analytical and structured problem solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a hands on, hardware focused setting
  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or composite materials
  • Familiarity with extrusion-based 3D printing or advanced additive manufacturing systems
  • Experience with composite material mixing or resin preparation processes
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
  • Exposure to manufacturing systems such as MES, PLM, or ERP platforms
  • Experience in a fast paced startup or research and development environment

Compensation Details

$70,000 - $90,000
