Senior Applications Engineer - Deploy Advanced Robotics Systems for Aerospace Manufacturing

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma | On-site

Opportunity Summary

Join a growing robotics company developing advanced automation systems that are transforming how aerospace and defense organizations manufacture, maintain, and sustain critical aircraft platforms. This role is an opportunity to become the technical bridge between engineering and the customer, helping deliver robotic systems that solve real manufacturing challenges while influencing the next generation of product development. As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will own technical execution from customer requirements through deployment, commissioning, and long-term system optimization. You'll work alongside mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineers while serving as the primary technical resource during implementation. This is a highly hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys solving multidisciplinary problems, working directly with customers, and seeing complex robotic systems successfully deployed into production.

About Us

We are a venture-backed robotics company building standardized automation platforms for aerospace and defense manufacturing. Our products combine robotics, motion control, machine vision, precision mechanical systems, and intelligent software to automate complex manufacturing and maintenance processes. Rather than building one-off automation projects, we're creating scalable robotic platforms that can be deployed across multiple customer environments. As a growing engineering organization, every employee has significant ownership, direct exposure to leadership, and the opportunity to shape both our products and our engineering culture.

Job Duties

  • Lead deployment of advanced robotic systems from factory testing through customer installation and production readiness.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical solutions alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout customer implementation and commissioning activities.
  • Develop project objectives, technical requirements, deployment plans, and engineering documentation.
  • Plan and execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Commission robotic systems and validate system performance in production environments.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and sensor-related issues during installation and field support.
  • Train customer engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on system operation and best practices.
  • Capture field feedback and collaborate with engineering teams to improve future product performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Coordinate technical deliverables while managing multiple customer projects simultaneously.
  • Support product roadmap discussions by identifying recurring customer needs and engineering improvements.
  • Mentor junior Applications Engineers and help establish technical best practices as the organization continues to grow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Applications Engineering, Robotics, Systems Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Experience deploying complex electromechanical systems into customer environments.
  • Strong understanding of industrial motion systems, robotics, and sensor integration.
  • Hands-on experience with encoders, servo systems, actuators, laser range finders, vision systems, cameras, load cells, or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing and executing engineering validation and test procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot integrated robotic systems spanning mechanical, electrical, controls, and software disciplines.
  • Experience managing technical deliverables, schedules, and customer expectations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering teams and customer organizations.
  • Self-starter capable of managing projects with minimal oversight.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience deploying industrial robotic or automated manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Universal Robots, ABB, Yaskawa, KUKA, or similar robotic platforms.
  • Background supporting aerospace manufacturing, aircraft maintenance, MRO, or defense production environments.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled automation equipment.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, engineering drawings, GD&T, and metrology.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming or scripting languages.
  • Exposure to automated manufacturing processes including drilling, fastening, routing, machining, welding, sanding, or material handling.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or government customers.

Why Join Us

  • Own the successful deployment of advanced robotic systems supporting aerospace and defense manufacturing.
  • Work directly with customers while partnering closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Help shape the evolution of standardized robotic platforms rather than supporting one-off automation projects.
  • Take ownership of projects from customer requirements through commissioning, validation, training, and continuous product improvement.
  • Join a growing engineering organization where your work has immediate visibility and impact.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers across robotics, controls, software, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off.
