Senior Fluids Engineer - Lead Development of Advanced Thermal & Flow Systems

Hawthorne, California | On-site

Opportunity Summary

We are building next-generation power generation systems designed to deliver reliable, scalable energy for emerging industrial and compute infrastructure. By combining advanced thermal systems, high-performance turbomachinery, and modern manufacturing approaches, our team is developing a new class of compact power hardware capable of being deployed faster and more efficiently than traditional solutions. We are seeking a Senior Fluids Engineer to own fluid system development across the product lifecycle. This individual will play a critical role in defining flow architectures, pressure management strategies, thermal-fluid performance, and system integration. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between analysis, hardware development, testing, and system-level problem solving while operating in a highly collaborative startup environment.

About Us

We are a venture-backed energy technology company building advanced power systems for the next generation of industrial and digital infrastructure. As an early-stage team, we move quickly, prioritize technical excellence, and believe the best engineers thrive when given meaningful ownership over challenging problems.

Job Duties

  • Own fluid system architecture from concept through deployment
  • Design high-pressure gas and fluid systems including piping networks, valves, manifolds, and flow control hardware
  • Develop thermal-fluid models to predict system performance across operating conditions
  • Perform CFD analysis and flow simulations to guide design decisions
  • Define system operating envelopes, pressure losses, flow requirements, and transient behaviors
  • Collaborate closely with turbomachinery, thermal, controls, and mechanical engineering teams
  • Support prototype development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Drive system-level performance optimization and root cause investigations
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical trade studies, and architecture decisions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience developing fluid systems for aerospace, propulsion, energy, turbomachinery, or industrial equipment
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
  • Experience using CFD and thermal-fluid simulation tools
  • Experience designing high-pressure fluid or gas systems
  • Ability to take ownership of complex technical problems from concept through validation

Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with supercritical fluid systems
  • Experience supporting hardware testing and development programs
  • Background in rocket propulsion, gas turbines, turbomachinery, or advanced energy systems
  • Startup or rapid development environment experience

Why Join Us

  • Early engineering ownership with direct influence on product architecture
  • Opportunity to solve challenging multidisciplinary engineering problems
  • Exposure across design, analysis, testing, and system integration
  • Work alongside experienced engineers from aerospace, energy, and advanced hardware industries

Compensation Details

$150,000 - $200,000
