Job Duties

  • Lead the design and development of propulsion systems for advanced spacecraft, integrating fluids, mechanics, electrical components, and controls.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of propulsion systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external customers, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive design reviews and analyses to ensure that propulsion hardware meets performance and functional specifications.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute system validation testing to ensure successful performance of propulsion systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges, providing innovative and effective solutions to overcome obstacles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in aerospace propulsion or a closely related field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics, and material science.
  • Proven hands-on experience with fluid, mechanical, electrical, and controls systems relevant to propulsion.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, design, fabricate, and test aerospace hardware.
  • A proactive approach to project ownership and a track record of working effectively in small, collaborative teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience across all phases of spacecraft propulsion system development.
  • Familiarity with relevant spaceflight propulsion standards, including NASA and Department of Defense specifications.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and innovation in fast-paced settings.

Security Clearance:

  • Must be eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance


Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 / year
