Job Duties
- Direct multiple concurrent programs from early R&D through production, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers working on advanced optical and sensor systems
- Serve as the key interface between internal teams, executive leadership, and external customers to ensure alignment on goals and progress
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules, budgets, and resource plans across parallel development efforts
- Translate high-level product concepts into actionable technical execution plans in collaboration with engineering leadership
- Drive risk management, anticipating potential issues and developing mitigation strategies early
- Oversee design reviews, milestone reporting, and customer deliverable documentation
- Support compliance with defense program standards, reporting protocols, and contractual requirements
- Contribute to improving program management practices and scaling internal processes as the organization grows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field (advanced degree preferred)
- 5+ years of experience managing complex technical programs within aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing
- Strong technical understanding of optical, LiDAR, laser, or sensor systems
- Proven record of successfully leading cross-functional engineering teams
- Skilled in balancing multiple priorities within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into clear program objectives
- Familiarity with standard project management frameworks and tools such as Agile methodologies, MS Project, or PMP certification
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing government-funded or DoD R&D programs
- Knowledge of hardware integration, testing, and qualification for optical or sensor-based systems
- Background in imaging, photonics, or precision electronics development
- Previous experience within mid-sized defense contractors, advanced manufacturing, or dual-use technology companies

Compensation Details
$130,000 - $200,000
