Job Duties
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of 3–4 concurrent R&D and production programs, ensuring technical and business milestones are met.
- Lead cross-functional teams of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers in developing advanced sensing and laser-based detection systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring alignment on scope, progress, and deliverables.
- Partner with senior researchers to translate high-level system concepts into actionable development plans.
- Manage program schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful execution.
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively, keeping leadership and customers informed of changes or technical challenges.
- Facilitate regular design reviews, progress updates, and technical status meetings.
- Support compliance with defense program standards, quality assurance, and customer reporting requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of program management processes and tools as the company scales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience managing complex technical programs within aerospace, defense, or high-technology manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical foundation or exposure to optical, laser, or LiDAR sensor systems.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional engineering teams spanning electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple programs simultaneously in a dynamic, growth-stage company.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to interface effectively between engineers, leadership, and customers.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Agile frameworks, or PMP certification).
Preferred Experience
- Prior involvement in DoD or government-funded R&D programs.
- Familiarity with hardware development, integration, and testing in optical or sensor-based systems.
- Experience working at companies focused on advanced imaging, photonics, or detection technologies.
- Previous roles in environments similar to mid-sized defense primes or commercial sensor companies.

Compensation Details
$120,000 – $190,000
