Job Duties
- Craft and select compact propulsion and impulse systems, including solid micro-motors and cold-gas thrusters
- Design pressure vessels, fast-response actuators, and timing mechanisms for high-G hardware
- Collaborate on systems that deploy kinetic interceptors, focusing on shock propagation and material acceleration
- Utilize simulation tools like CFD, CEA, and FEA for propulsion behavior evaluation
- Plan and execute high-pressure and impulse characterization tests in collaboration with external test facilities
- Integrate sensors and develop test fixtures for comprehensive data acquisition
- Work alongside engineers of various disciplines to ensure seamless system integration and operation
Qualifications
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience with propulsion design, combustion, or high-pressure systems
- Proficiency in modeling with tools such as CEA, CFD (OpenFOAM/ANSYS/COMSOL), and MATLAB/Python
- Hands-on experience with testing propulsion rigs and pressure systems
- In-depth knowledge of flow dynamics, combustion processes, and structural limitations
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with solid motors, gas generators, and hybrid propulsion systems
- Background in designing components for aerospace systems like rockets or UAVs
- Understanding of MIL-STD testing protocols
- Experience with high-speed data acquisition and testing instruments
- Practical skills in machining and test fixture design

Compensation Details
$120,000 to $180,000
