Job Duties

  • Develop and execute strategic business initiatives in the space and defense sectors.
  • Conduct detailed market research, including setting hypotheses, surveying, and both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders in commercial space companies and government agencies like NASA, USSF, and the DoD.
  • Lead negotiations, manage sales pipelines, and drive revenue generation through consultative selling techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams to identify and expand client solutions through live technology demonstrations.
  • Coordinate the full lifecycle of contracts and agreements, from identifying client needs to structuring service proposals and pricing.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, program management, or systems engineering.
  • 1+ year working in a pre-series B startup environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development or sales, particularly for service-based solutions.
  • Strong understanding of government contracting processes and defense acquisition.
  • Proficiency in proposal development, cost estimations, and technical writing.
  • Highly driven, with a proactive approach to growth in a startup setting.

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced degree in aerospace engineering or a related engineering field
  • Proven record of successfully closing high-value contracts ($10M+) within aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and manage long sales cycles and complex negotiations.

Security Clearance:

  • Must be eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance

Compensation Details

$115,000 - $160,000
