Job Duties
- Lead business development efforts focused on satellite solutions, with an emphasis on government contracts and national security initiatives.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities by engaging with key stakeholders across government and commercial sectors.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand market share, including proposal development, contract negotiations, and relationship-building efforts.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to align product offerings with client needs and industry demands.
- Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, procurement processes, and emerging technologies to position the company as a premier provider of satellite solutions.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing clients while actively seeking opportunities to expand business partnerships.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to enhance visibility and drive business engagement.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of proposal activities, contributing to technical, management, cost, and schedule elements.
- Provide input on strategic planning and go-to-market strategies for satellite-related initiatives.
- Support internal teams by sharing customer insights, industry trends, and competitive intelligence to refine offerings and improve business strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in business development, program management, or systems engineering within the aerospace, defense, or satellite industry.
- Strong knowledge of government acquisition processes, contracting mechanisms, and industry regulations.
- Proven track record of securing large-scale contracts, particularly within the government and defense sectors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, business, or a related technical discipline.
- Direct experience in satellite systems, payload integration, or spacecraft operations.
- Familiarity with the latest advancements in satellite technology and national security applications.
- Background in working with Department of Defense (DoD), intelligence agencies, or commercial satellite providers.
- Hands-on experience with proposal writing, cost estimation, and contract negotiation.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate across technical and business units.
Security Clearance
- Must be able to obtain US Secret clearance.
