Senior Production Supervisor - Bakery


North York

12 hour shifts

7am-7pm OR Nights 7pm-7am


Position Overview

 

The Senior Production Supervisor is responsible to lead the entire product floor for an industrial Bakery. Work closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager, manage the attendance of all employees for each shift, keep the throughput of production based on schedule and ensure product quality and KPIs are met and exceeded.

 

 

 

Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:

 

·     Oversee schedule to ensure proper materials and labour required are in place and planned in advance.

·      Ensure that all the equipment and machinery are set up to start.

·     Meet with the Production Lead from the previous shift to share pertinent information.

·     Do the GMP check in the production area and wash area.

·     Make sure the employees are working safely and following all occupational Health and Safety regulations.

·     Work with Sanitation and Quality to ensure the right resources and procedures are in place to meet GMP and HACCP requirements.

·     Ensure the sanitation schedule has been done accordingly to your shift.

·     Make sure the shift report is filled out properly and reviewed throughout the shift.

·     Make sure the paperwork is filled out properly and reviewed throughout the shift.

·     Verify the orders completed on the APP (and lot numbers).

·     If maintenance is required, there must be communication by email immediately and a work order must be opened to ensure that the problem is addressed.

·     Oversee the production line to keep the throughput as planned.

·     Inform Quality Assurance of any issues are found with product or ingredients quality.

·     Based on sanitation schedule, make sure the ATP test is done and recorded properly.

·     Ensure required training is completed and documented into training records.

·     Maintain a clean and organized workspace

·     Make sure the waste has been collected and recorded properly.

·     Act as liaison between all service and administrative staff with production personal.

·     Ensure all the ingredients required for production are available.

·     Provide assistance with troubleshooting of unplanned breakdowns.

·     Establish and sustain a positive and cooperative employee environment through effective communications across work teams/shifts and other functional areas.

·     Ensure consistency across shift teams in effective, timely and fair performance and disciplinary feedback and documentation.

 

 

Ideal Qualifications:

 

·     2+ years of bakery supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

·     2+ years of leadership experience in a food production facility

·     Work safely and follow all occupational Health and Safety regulations.

·     Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and Food Safety.

·     Knowledge of Allergens control

·     Strong Attention to detail, computer and reporting skills Excellent communication skills

·     Able to lift a minimum of 20 kg.

·     Able to stand for 8 hours.

·     Technical ability to operate Bakery production and packaging equipment.

·     Analytical ability
