Job Title: Safety Professional
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Salary: $70k–95k+ per year base DOE, overtime eligibility (~10 hrs/week per workload) + full benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k)

HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for a Safety Professional. This role reports to the Safety Manager and helps coordinate and administer site safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards and procedures. You’ll provide safety resource support for assigned operating units, including training and permitting, and help ensure every employee goes home healthy and safe each shift. Exact location of coverage will vary based on workload and needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and emergency response
- Conduct site inspections and track all corrective actions to closure
- Perform job safety analyses (JSAs)
- Maintain jobsite-specific documentation
- Carry out additional assignments as directed by the Safety Manager
- Coach and teach safety across the region
- Conduct safety training

Education and Experience
- A degree (Associate, Bachelor, or Master) in Occupational Safety & Health or related fields (e.g., Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Protection) with a minimum of 6 months’ experience in safety, health, environmental, or emergency response; or
- Professional certification such as OHST or CHST (CCHEST), or ASP/CSP (BCSP) with a minimum of 6 months’ experience in safety, health, environmental, or emergency response; or
- Five (5) years of construction experience with 100% of day-to-day duties focused on safety, health, or environmental protection.
Preferred Training
- OSHA 500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry; or
- OSHA 501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry.
