Compensation: $75k–$120k DOE, plus annual bonus and full benefits


HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for a Civil Engineer, PE to join a growing, multidisciplinary engineering and surveying firm with a long-standing presence across Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. The firm provides planning, design, and construction support services for federal, state, municipal, tribal, and private clients, with a strong focus on projects that directly improve local communities.

This role is based in the firm’s newer Olympia, Washington office and offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of civil infrastructure projects across the Pacific Northwest. The Role

We’re seeking a full-time Civil Engineer, PE in Olympia, Washington to support civil infrastructure planning, design, permitting, and project delivery. This person will work closely with clients, agencies, internal project teams, and external partners to develop effective engineering solutions for public and private sector projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who values collaboration, enjoys working across a variety of civil projects, and wants to help grow a newer regional office while being supported by a broader multidisciplinary team.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders to develop effective civil engineering designs.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, including planners, architects, contractors, permitting agencies, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Support permitting processes and manage related documentation.
  • Contribute to successful project delivery through strong communication, coordination, and technical execution.
  • Support the firm’s continued growth through client relationships, project success, and team collaboration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Abilities

  • Solid understanding of civil engineering principles and project delivery.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering staff at various experience levels.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, agencies, contractors, and project partners.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and navigate construction areas.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering, FE, exam required.
  • Professional Engineer, PE, license preferred, or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Civil engineering experience related to infrastructure, site development, public works, transportation, utilities, or related project types preferred.
  • Experience working with public and/or private sector clients is a plus.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel to various project sites.
  • Ability to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
