Senior Electrical Engineer

Anchorage, Alaska | Hybrid flexibility available

Compensation: $150k–$160k+ DOE, plus bonus and profit sharing


HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a 40-year, full-service, multidisciplinary engineering and surveying firm with offices in Alaska and Washington. The team of 80+ delivers planning, design, and construction support services for federal, state, municipal, tribal, and private clients across Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.


The Role


We’re seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer in the Anchorage office to be an integral leader and contributor to project delivery and team success.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical engineering plans, specifications, and reports for power, lighting, and instrumentation/controls systems.
  • Conduct condition assessments and inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Mentor EITs and delegate electrical tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time and budget management; able to work independently and in team settings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with Revit; AutoCAD; ETAP or other power simulation software preferred.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
  • Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) license required, with ability to obtain Alaska licensure within 6 months of hire.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Desired commercial experience in one or more of the following: power, lighting, runway lighting, power generation, telecommunications, instrumentation & controls, SCADA, arctic engineering, hazardous locations, field inspections, and fee estimates (other relevant experience will be considered).
  • Experience with CSI specifications desired; UFGS specifications a plus.
