About the Opportunity


HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for an Electrical Engineer with a well-established, 100% employee-owned engineering, planning, surveying, and science firm serving clients across the Rocky Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions. This opportunity is based in Bend, Oregon, and will be an in-person role. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who enjoys designing building systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams, and contributing to a wide variety of projects. The role blends technical electrical design, project leadership, client communication, and business development support within a respected employee-owned firm.


Key Responsibilities


The Electrical Engineer will support and lead building-related electrical engineering projects, with work focused on interpreting architectural design plans and developing the electrical systems required to support each facility. Project work will include lighting design, power distribution, fire alarm systems, HVAC power supply, circuitry, equipment power plans, and other electrical components within building design. This person will work closely with architects, mechanical, structural, civil, and other engineering professionals to deliver high-quality electrical engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical judgment, clear communication, project leadership experience, and a client growth mindset. Overall responsibilities include:


  • Consult and collaborate with clients to understand project goals, design vision, and technical requirements
  • Interpret architectural design plans and determine appropriate electrical systems to support the project scope
  • Design electrical building systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, circuitry, equipment power plans, and HVAC power supply
  • Utilize engineering design software to develop electrical system components within building design documents
  • Prepare project specifications and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, building codes, and applicable design requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines to support integrated project design
  • Solve electrical engineering design challenges and resolve complex technical issues
  • Lead complex projects, tasks, and teams
  • Partner with operations leadership to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Support client relationships, revenue growth, and expanded market presence


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Engineer-In-Training professional designation required
  • Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain after hire
  • 5+ years of U.S.-based electrical engineering system design experience within architectural and building project disciplines
  • Experience designing electrical systems for building projects
  • Demonstrated project leadership experience leading complex projects, tasks, and teams
  • Proficiency with design software such as Revit, AGI32, and SKM
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and calculations within building systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Client growth mindset with the ability to pursue business opportunities and help win new work
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required for occasional travel


Compensation and Benefits


  • Base salary of $110,000-$140,000 depending on experience
