Compensation: $110,000-$130,000+ DOE, Annual Bonus, ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program)


About the Position


HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for a Structural Engineer with a well-established, 100% employee-owned engineering, planning, surveying, and science firm serving clients across the Rocky Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions. This position is connected to the Bend, Oregon office. Remote work is an option for the right candidate, provided they are open to traveling to Bend approximately 1-2 times per month for team collaboration, client interaction, and project needs.. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Structural Engineer who enjoys guiding building projects from concept through completion, collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams, and developing long-term client relationships. The role blends technical structural design, project leadership, client communication, and mentorship of early-career engineers.


Key Responsibilities


The Structural Engineer will support and lead building-related structural engineering projects involving steel, concrete, wood, and masonry systems. The position will include design for new construction, existing building evaluations, renovations, and seismic upgrade projects. This person will work closely with architects, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and other design professionals to deliver high-quality structural solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage both the engineering details and the broader project objectives. Overall responsibilities include:


  • Lead structural engineering projects through all phases, from early planning and design through construction administration and closeout
  • Develop and review structural calculations, analyses, design documents, and construction drawings
  • Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams to align structural solutions with project goals
  • Work closely with engineers and BIM designers to refine design details and produce high-quality construction documents
  • Support proposal development, including scopes of work, fees, and contract documents
  • Plan project schedules, forecast workflow, and coordinate team resources
  • Conduct or oversee site visits, construction observations, and progress reporting
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during construction
  • Maintain strong client communication and support long-term client relationships
  • Mentor and support early-career engineers and technical staff


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Professional Engineering license required
  • 4+ years of relevant structural engineering experience in civil, architectural, or building design
  • Experience with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structural systems
  • Knowledge of load calculations, structural analysis, and design engineering
  • Experience evaluating existing buildings, renovations, and/or seismic upgrades preferred
  • Proficiency with engineering and design software such as Revit/BIM, RISA, or similar tools
  • Project engineering or project management experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred
  • Structural Engineering license preferred


Compensation and Benefits


  • Base salary of $110,000-$135,000+ depending on experience
