Location: Memphis, Tennessee

Compensation: $140,000–$180,000 DOE + 20% Annual Incentive Plan + 30% Long-Term Incentive Plan

Employment Type: Full-time

HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at a US manufacturer of engineered-to-order HVAC and thermal management systems serving mission-critical and commercial/industrial environments. The company designs and manufactures highly customized equipment and continues to invest in manufacturing capability, process improvement, and operational excellence across its production network.


About the Role

This is a people and process leadership role for an engineering manager with a strong manufacturing engineering foundation who can lead teams, drive results, and partner effectively across departments. The role reports to the Site Director and will lead a growing Manufacturing Engineering organization supporting a large-scale BASX manufacturing operation in Memphis. This facility has been in operation for approximately 2 years, so the role is well suited for someone who understands plant startup environments, scaling operations, and building systems that support long-term growth.


The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will play a central role in identifying inefficiencies in manufacturing processes, capacity, and overall effectiveness, then guiding the team in developing and implementing practical solutions. This leader will also help support the design and development of fabrication and assembly lines, including future work related to laying out a coil shop in Memphis. The role requires strong communication, Lean thinking, SAP familiarity, project management judgment, and the ability to mentor engineers while maintaining close working relationships with Operations and other cross-functional leaders.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team.

• Support Manufacturing Engineers in solving manufacturing process-related issues.

• Partner with other departmental managers to maintain strong working relationships and coordinate efforts across functions.

• Identify inefficiencies in manufacturing processes, capacity, and effectiveness, and help drive solutions through the engineering team.

• Support the design, layout, and optimization of fabrication and assembly lines.

• Contribute to future manufacturing capability expansion, including coil shop planning and layout in Memphis.

• Oversee team performance through timekeeping, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and development planning.

• Coordinate engineer skill development and provide ongoing mentorship and coaching.

• Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality.

• Apply Lean methodologies to improve flow, execution, and plant performance.

• Work with OEMs to resolve equipment and process-related issues.

• Support day-shift operations while also providing leadership support to off shifts as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a related field, or equivalent technical background.

• 5–10 years of industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent experience in a related industry.

• Heavy Manufacturing Engineering experience is strongly preferred.

• Experience leading engineering teams and driving measurable operational results.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and project management.

• Experience in plant startup, scale-up, or ramp environments is highly desirable.

• Tier 1 automotive supplier experience is desirable.

• Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies.

• SAP experience is important.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with business software including MS Office, Outlook, and MS Project.

• Comfortable working directly with OEMs to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or process challenges.


Team & Scope

• Reports to: Site Director

• Supports a 780,000-square-foot manufacturing facility with approximately 500 employees and continued scaling underway.

• Team size includes 8 engineers, 4 engineering technicians, and 4 summer interns.

• Current team includes Level I and Level II engineers, with responsibility for coaching, development, and team performance.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• On-site role in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand or walk for up to 95% of the normal work shift.

• Ability to work occasionally in temperatures below 32 degrees or above 90 degrees.

• Requires regular interaction with manufacturing teams, engineering staff, and external equipment partners.

• Primary schedule aligns with day shift, with support for off-shift needs as required.
