HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for a Manufacturing Engineer III at a US manufacturer of engineered-to-order HVAC and thermal management systems serving mission-critical and commercial/industrial environments. The company designs and manufactures highly customized equipment and continues to invest in manufacturing capability, process improvement, and operational excellence across its production network.
About the Role
This is a senior-level manufacturing engineering role for a technical leader who can drive complex process improvements, support strategic manufacturing goals, and lead high-impact initiatives across production. You will apply advanced engineering expertise to optimize manufacturing systems, improve quality and throughput, reduce cost, and align engineering execution with operational priorities. The role also carries strong cross-functional influence, with regular collaboration across Engineering, Operations, and Quality, as well as responsibility for mentoring junior engineers and helping shape future manufacturing capability.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
• Analyze complex production challenges and develop innovative, data-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and operations teams to integrate new products and processes into manufacturing.
• Oversee the design and optimization of production layouts, tooling, and workflows to maximize productivity and safety.
• Serve as a technical mentor to junior engineers through guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Manage large-scale projects, including capital equipment installations, process automation, and Lean transformation initiatives.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, materials, and methods to maintain a competitive edge in manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all engineering practices.
• Prepare and present technical reports, cost analyses, and project updates to leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Four-year ABET-accredited degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical degree in applied sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within HVAC or a similar industry.
• Advanced certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management are preferred.
• Expert knowledge of manufacturing systems, process engineering, and production optimization.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with Lean tools, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Work is performed in a combination of office and factory settings.
• Frequent collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and leadership teams.
• Regular exposure to loud noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, chemical fumes, and industrial equipment.
• Required use of PPE while on the production floor.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit or stand for up to 95% of work hours.
• Regular visits to the manufacturing floor in seasonal hot and cold conditions.
• This position is designated as safety-sensitive and is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.
• Compliance with all company safety and operational policies is required.
