Associate / Senior Associate - Banking & Finance Lawyer

Join a highly regarded Banking & Finance practice working on complex, high-value financing transactions across a diverse and sophisticated client base.

Why Join?

  • Exposure to sophisticated banking and finance transactions with real commercial context
  • Hands-on involvement in complex matters, with autonomy and responsibility at senior level
  • Enjoy top-of-market remuneration and leading benefits
  • Close access to partners and senior lawyers, within a genuinely collaborative team structure
  • Opportunities to broaden your experience across restructures, equity raisings and fund-related matters
  • A collegiate, high-performing environment that values judgement, precision and long-term development

The Opportunity

This is a well-rounded banking and finance role within a practice that advises across the full spectrum of financing matters, including corporate and property finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, structured and project finance, capital raisings, restructures and recapitalisations.

The team works with a broad mix of clients, including major domestic and international financiers, private capital, funds, developers, corporates and substantial private groups. Matters are often part of larger commercial transactions, with close collaboration across corporate, property, insolvency, tax and construction teams.

You’ll play a key role in managing transactions and workstreams, working closely with partners and senior lawyers while maintaining direct client contact. Lawyers at this level are encouraged to take ownership, supervise junior team members and contribute to the broader strategic direction of matters.

The practice places a strong emphasis on developing commercially minded lawyers, with exposure extending beyond pure debt work where relevant.

About you

  • Experienced Associate or Senior Associate with banking and finance experience gained in private practice
  • Excellent academic results, strong technical foundations and sound commercial judgement
  • Confident managing matters, working directly with clients and supervising junior lawyers
  • Motivated by complex, high-quality work and keen to continue developing within a premium practice
