The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading skilled trades employees in support of production operations, including maintenance of equipment, automation systems, and manufacturing processes. This role also involves planning maintenance activities, prioritizing projects, and ensuring efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate maintenance activities in alignment with established operational systems and standards
- Support an oversee plant maintenance programs, including training and scheduling of maintenance activities
- Maintain a strong technical understanding of maintenance strategies, including time-based maintenance (TBM), condition-based maintenance (CBM), and dynamic maintenance (DM)
- Monitor and influence key performance indicators (KPI's), including mean time between failure (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR)
- Ensure equipment is maintained to basic operating conditions while driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to throughput, cycle time, and equipment downtime within a production environment
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to skilled trades personnel
- Partner with maintenance staff to drive waste reduction through implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., autonomous maintenance, preventive maintenance, quality maintenance, focused improvement, and people development)
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement (kaizen) activities focused on improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reducing operational waste
Qualifications:
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing systems
- Experience supervising skilled trades in a production environment
- Proven ability to analyze equipment performance and implement improvements
- Familiarity with continuous improvement principles and methodologies
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with conveyors, automation systems, and sealing equipment
- Background supporting paint department operations is highly preferred.
