Open Pit Mine Engineer


Our client is seeking a Mine Engineer – Junior to Intermediate Level to provide technical engineering support to mine operations. This is an excellent opportunity for either a recent Mining Engineering graduate looking to begin their career or an engineer with several years of experience ready to take on greater technical responsibility.

The Mine Engineer will work closely with Safety, Operations, Geology, Survey, Processing, Maintenance, and other technical personnel to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations.


What You’ll do:

•         Assist with short- and medium-term mine planning, scheduling, design, and production forecasting

•         Prepare mine designs, layouts, maps, drawings, and other technical documentation

•         Monitor production performance and assist with reporting, reconciliation, and variance analysis

•         Provide engineering support related to mining sequences, equipment utilization, haulage, development, and operational requirements

•         Perform engineering calculations and assist with drill and blast planning, as applicable

•         Coordinate with Geology and Survey personnel to maintain accurate mine plans and current technical information

•         Conduct field inspections to verify mine conditions, production progress, and compliance with established plans

•         Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, efficiency, recovery, and cost performance

•         Support technical studies, special projects, budgeting, forecasting, and operational evaluations


What We’re Looking For:


Junior Level

•         Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required

•         Recent graduates and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply

•         Previous mining experience, internship, or co-op experience is preferred but not required



Intermediate Level

•         Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required

•         Typically, 2–5 years of progressively responsible mining engineering experience

•         Experience in mine planning, production engineering, design, scheduling, or related technical functions preferred
