Environmental and Permitting Manager

Reporting to the Director of Permitting, the Environmental and Permitting Manager owns the integrated permitting register and schedule spanning federal and state permitting agencies while managing day-to-day site environmental performance for active exploration.

Primary Responsibilities

·      Develop and maintain the integrated permitting register and master schedule across both assets.

·      Manage BLM permitting, including 43 CFR 3809 notices/plans of operation and support NEPA/EIS processes.

·      Manage Arizona permitting (ADEQ APP, Air Quality, MLRP, ADWR, AZPDES).

·      Coordinate with Land Manager on Arizona State Land Department access and rights-of-way.

·      Manage reclamation bonding and concurrent reclamation activities.

·      Secure drill pad/access authorizations and confirm biological/cultural clearances.

·      Oversee stormwater (MSGP/SWPPP), SPCC, dust control, waste management, and drilling fluids containment.

·      Inspect active drill sites and oversee contractor environmental compliance.

·      Direct environmental baseline studies (water, air, biology, cultural, soils, noise).

·      Maintain the environmental management system, compliance tracker, and obligations register.

·      Prepare regulatory reports and manage agency relationships.

·      Deliver environmental and cultural awareness training.

·      Assess environmental risks, investigate incidents, and coordinate audits.


Qualifications

·      B.S. in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geology, Engineering, Natural Resources, or related field.

·      10+ years of environmental permitting/site management experience in mining.

·      Experience with BLM permitting and NEPA processes.

·      Knowledge of CWA/AZPDES, SPCC, RCRA, and CAA requirements.

·      Experience managing environmental baseline programs and consultants.

·      Strong project management, budgeting, technical writing, and agency relationship skills.

·      Valid driver's license and ability to operate 4WD vehicles.

·      Ability to pass background check and pre-employment screening.

·      Legal authorization to work in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications

·      Experience with ADEQ APP, Air Quality, State Mine Inspector MLRPs, and ADWR.

·      EIS support experience.


Physical Demands

·      Communicate effectively in English.

·      Frequently sit, stand, walk, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

·      Must comply with drug/alcohol-free workplace policies and testing.
