ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

As Principal, Human Resources Business Partner based at the site you will work directly with business leaders and employees to serve as the main point of contact for all human resource related needs and issues. This includes a focus on building strong teams, influencing employee relations and driving the company culture. This role will act as a change agent and anticipate needs of the teams they support as well as serving as a leadership coach.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Champion a culture of safety, care, and accountability.
  • Drive performance and collaboration by coaching leaders and enabling high-performing teams.
  • Support people strategies and continuous improvement aligned with business goals.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, feedback, and meaningful development opportunities.
  • Deliver strategic HR support across the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent, and performance.
  • Provide expert advice on organization design, role alignment, and compensation frameworks.
  • Guide leaders through employee relations matters, ensuring timely, compliant, and business-focused outcomes.
  • Collaborate with HR teams to ensure consistency, share best practices, and shape policy development.
  • Analyze workforce trends to inform decision-making and support local change initiatives.

   

ABOUT YOU 

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or other relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
  • 7 to 10 years’ experience in a human resources role with preference given to candidates who have mining, heavy industrial operations or major capital projects experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including compensation practices, employee and industrial relations, diversity, talent management, federal and state employment laws within a heavy industry context
  • Strong negotiation, influence, and persuasion skills; able to challenge constructively
  • Skilled in advising and empowering effective people management
  • Clear and impactful communicator, both written and verbal
