Maintenance Manager
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of fixed plant and mobile fleet assets at mine. This role leads maintenance operations to achieve availability, reliability, and cost targets while promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. Responsibilities include developing life-of-mine equipment and component strategies, overseeing work management systems, and ensuring compliance with the company’s asset management standards. Through effective leadership and collaboration, the Maintenance Manager drives equipment utilization, supports production goals, and delivers on safety, cost, and operational commitments.

Safety & Values Leadership: Exemplify company values and lead all maintenance activities in compliance with MSHA regulations, site policies, and environmental standards. Promote a sustainable, risk-based safety culture across employees and contractors.

Maintenance Operations Management: Plan, manage, and supervise all fixed plant, fleet, and ancillary equipment maintenance. Ensure asset reliability, availability, and cost targets are achieved through effective defect elimination, work management, and adherence to company maintenance standards.

Team & Culture Development: Provide strong leadership to build a high-performing maintenance team. Foster collaboration, accountability, and communication across all levels of the workforce and departments.

Contractor & Supplier Oversight: Manage vendor relationships to ensure performance, quality, and cost control. Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate alternative parts and components to optimize operating costs.

Strategic Planning & Asset Reliability: Collaborate with operations and reliability teams to define equipment life cycle requirements, condition monitoring strategies, and maintenance budgets. Align short, medium, and long-term plans with production goals and asset management strategies.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Ensure integrity of maintenance reports that inform operational and strategic decisions. Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and equipment performance through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Minimum of 15 years experience in surface mining.
- Minimum 5 years in an on-site Maintenance Management role.
- Demonstrated track record in defining and leading maintenance improvement programs to successful results.
- Proficient in the component forecasting and budgeting
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership.
Preferred
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent Maintenance & Asset Management qualifications.
- Formal Training with Computerize Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and/or maintenance Planning computerized Systems utilizing SAP.
- Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) and/or Root Cause Analysis (RCA) certificate of competence.
- Reliability Engineering certificate of competency.
- Minimum 3 years using SAP Enterprise Asset Management CMMS.
