Job Description


We are seeking a Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in crew supervision within the construction or mining industry, overseeing daily tasks, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity for assigned work areas. The Foreman will report directly to the General Superintendent and the Superintendent.


Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise daily crew operations, including assignment of tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring efficient workflow for assigned work areas.
  • Ensure all crew activities are performed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards, enforcing site rules and procedures.
  • Manage implementation of work plans for the crew, including resource allocation, equipment operation, and material usage.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, engineers, and other foremen to resolve issues and implement changes in the field.
  • Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and documentation to support work activities and reporting.
  • Monitor crew performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, inspections, and safety meetings for the crew.
  • Collaborate with team members and external partners to maintain project progress and satisfaction.
  • Handle minor change management in the field, including adjustments to work methods and reporting impacts.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to crew members.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with preconstruction activities, including equipment setup, schedule input, and onboarding of crew members.
  • Development of daily field logs in digital format and submission of those logs to management for review.


Scope of Work


The Foreman will oversee a variety of tasks critical to the Project, including:


  • Crew Operations: Direct daily activities for the assigned crew, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform spot checks and audits to verify work meets specifications and standards.
  • Team Management: Lead crew members, assign duties, and promote high performance and teamwork.
  • Risk and Compliance: Spot site hazards, enforce safety protocols, and support inspections.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate daily records, reports, and logs for the crew's work.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate with supervisors, crew, and support teams.
  • Change Management: Adjust field operations as needed and report changes.
  • Closeout: Help with area wrap-up, including clean-up and final checks.


Required Skills and Qualifications


  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or mining, with at least 2 years in a foreman or lead role.
  • Proven track record of supervising crews on projects, including hands-on coordination and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, safety standards, regulatory compliance, and field operations in the civil construction sector.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Revu-Bluebeam, MS Office Suite, B2W Track, or alternate field log software).
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 10, MSHA) preferred.
