Lead Engineer

Position Summary


This role is responsible for leading a small team of Drafters and field engineers. They will have a strong focus on safety and quality output of engineering functions to meet the needs of customers and to support the Company's business plan. This position is responsible for research, design, reverse engineering and drafting Company products, systems, and components. They will prepare detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks with information provided by sales staff and engineers. Communicate with Engineering and Operations to plan and execute projects efficiently and effectively with a high degree of safety.


General Responsibilities:


  • Provide operations with prints and plans for products to be fabricated.

  • Use of basic and advanced measuring tools to recreate damaged OEM parts for remanufacturing.

  • Act in a professional manner to work in and around heavy machinery and shop equipment safely and efficiently.



Skills Required:


  • Advanced Understanding of Material and Equipment Capabilities.

  • Good Working Knowledge of Engineering Standards.

  • Basic Understanding of 3D Scanners.

  • Advanced Modeling Skills.

  • High Level of Design Intent on all projects going to Operations.

  • Good Understanding of 3D Scanner and Artec Studios.

  • Good Communication Skills with Sales Team and Operations.

  • On-Site Experience (MSHA Training).

  • Strong Design Instinct with Problem Solving Skills



Qualifications:


  • 4 year Degree in Science/Engineering

  • Experience with SolidWorks, ProNest, AutoCAD, and/or Microsoft Office products

  • Knowledge of basic fabrication practices; welding, cutting, forming, rolling, etc.

  • Ability to perform work following all required safety protocols including use of proper PPE for assigned tasks required.

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments while prioritizing workflow required.

  • Ability to uphold all company policies required.

  • Ability to work as a team to accomplish objectives.

  • Ability to make decisions in effective and timely manner to guarantee projects are not bottle-necked.

  • Ability to read or learn to read blueprints, hand sketches and other means to assess what risk might be involved and mitigate those risks as well as determine all aspects of what a project may require.

  • Strong communication skills in verbal and written formats at all times with fellow employees, suppliers, and customers.

  • Ability to represent company in professional manner at all times.
