Global Project Sales Manager



The Global Project Sales Manager is the senior sales leader within the company and is responsible for the strategic identification and development of project sales.

This position requires a hunter mentality with a unique ability to close the sale. This position will work closely with engineering firms and mine sites to promote value based and total cost ownership sales strategies to establish long term new market niches.


RESPONSIBLITIES

• Understanding industry conditions to provide competitive intelligence and increase market share of the company systems in both existing and new markets.


• Develops new and prospective accounts by using product knowledge to sell to national and direct distributor accounts, as well as analyze needs, advise on product purchases, answer technical questions, and recommend solutions to grow potential sales opportunities through education-based selling.


• Identifies and solicits prospective customers to determine appropriate contacts, qualify, and drive leads through the sales pipeline.


• Represents the company through various prospecting methods including phone, online, field sales, and national or regional exhibits and trade shows


• Maintains a database of direct and distributor prospects and customers on a global scale. Prospects, qualifies, and generates sales within the company’s established customer base.


• Works closely with new and existing customers to complete a needs analysis, product identification and/or recommendations, planning, and qualification.


• Responds to requests from customers for information with accurate and complete product quotes.


• Engages in technical discussions with current or potential clients through demonstrations and presentations.


• Uses detailed understanding of the full product catalog to educate customers in technical solutions and specifications.


• Performs required travel in support of customer needs, attends trade shows and visits prospective job sites.


• Responds to customer phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner.


• Fully collects all relevant data regarding project opportunities and develops customer quotes and orders accurately and efficiently.


• Interprets product blueprints, schematics, manuals, routings, and other related manufacturing instructions.


• Comfortable working with supporting disciplines including manufacturing, purchasing, and planning.


• Keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports. Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marketing or another relevant field or equivalent work experience is preferred.


• Minimum of five years in a technical sales role required. Experience in the mining, power, or pulp and paper industries strongly preferred. Experience working with steel-based abrasion resistant piping or related heavy duty industrial application is preferred.


• Exceptional skill in sales of highly technical products is essential.


• Must have an established competency and comfort in the assessment of technical specifications (ability to fully understand isometric and orthographic schematics, as well as mechanical system operating parameters).


• Excellent communication, customer focus and attention to detail required.


• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.


• Strong financial acumen as it relates to costing and pricing of project quotations.


• Ability to develop effective go to market plans.


• Fundamental understanding of income and cashflow statements.


• Familiarity with SFDC.


• Fully understands and supports Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning (SIOP) methodologies.



• Preferable residency of the candidate is in the Western US.
