Job Title: Senior Exploration Geologist


Position Summary

The Senior Exploration Geologist plays a strategic leadership role within the mine’s Exploration team, overseeing near-mine, district, and regional exploration activities. This position leads and mentors’ exploration staff and contractors, ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, and manages exploration programs including drill targeting, mapping, sampling, budgeting, reporting, and geologic modeling under the direction of the Exploration Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•        Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

•        Supervise, mentor, and develop direct reports

•        Lead regional geological interpretations and exploration programs

•        Collect, analyze, and interpret geologic data to support exploration objectives

•        Conduct detailed geologic mapping and sampling

•        Generate geologic maps, cross-sections, models, and presentations using Vulcan and ArcGIS

•        Plan, budget, and execute surface and underground drilling programs

•        Log and sample drill core and chips

•        Contribute to NI 43-101–compliant resource modeling

•        Support cross-functional teams and align geology objectives with business goals

•        Communicate professionally with employees, management, contractors, and vendors

•        Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Experience

•        Bachelor’s Degree in Geology required,

o  Master’s Degree in Geology, structural or epithermal focus required

•        7+ years of applicable experience (low sulfidation, epithermal deposits required)

•        Excellent safety record, self-motivated and leadership

•        Proficiency in appropriate software required, experience in Vulcan and ArcGIS are highly preferred

•        Able to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment

•        Good organizational skills

•        Strong verbal and written communication skills

•        Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

•        Ability to work independently in remote field environments.

•        Must pass background screening, pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

•        Work is performed in office, warehouse, and field settings.

•        Work may involve walking on uneven terrain, standing for long periods, exposure to weather, and lifting up to 50 pounds over extended periods.

•        Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in all active exploration and mining areas.

•        Noise levels are generally quiet in the office; in the field and warehouse, appropriate hearing protection may be required.

•        Work environments may involve exposure to dust, and use of a respirator may be required.
