About the Role

As a Wellfield Mine Planner, you won’t just be planning—you’ll be pioneering. You’ll be at the heart of designing the next generation of wellfield expansions and orchestrating the strategic retirement of mined-out zones. Your work will directly influence the efficiency, sustainability, and profitability of one of the most innovative copper recovery operations in the world.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Engineer the future: Design and oversee the construction of cutting-edge piping and electrical infrastructure.
  • Map the vision: Use AutoCAD and ArcGIS to bring wellfield layouts to life.
  • Drive innovation: Plan and optimize wellfield expansions based on real-time operational feedback.
  • Master the flow: Design pumping systems and pipelines that maximize copper recovery.
  • Shape the land: Develop site grading plans that balance performance and environmental stewardship.
  • Own the numbers: Lead project budgeting, cost analysis, and performance tracking.
  • Optimize operations: Analyze flow rates and copper grades to fine-tune wellfield performance.
  • Solve with science: Interpret complex lab data to guide design and operational decisions.


Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or Hydrogeology.
  • 5+ years of experience in mining or wellfield construction and operation.
  • Proven expertise in copper mining and mine planning (short or long range).


Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced degree (MS) in engineering or geosciences highly regarded.
  • Experience in wellfield design, instrumentation, or hydrometallurgy.
  • Proficiency in Minesight, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
  • Strong grasp of water chemistry, geology, and data analysis.
  • A reputation for being highly organized and detail driven.
  • Highly experienced in fluid dynamics, pipes, and pumps.
  • Moderate understanding of electrical infrastructure is desirable.


Work Environment

  • Split your time between the office and the field—rain or shine.
  • Be ready to climb, lift (up to 50 lbs), and get hands-on with the operation.
