The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating the planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of mechanical systems and infrastructure supporting the company's Arizona operations. This role provides technical leadership for capital projects involving process equipment, material handling systems, piping, pumping systems, and related facilities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements. The Mechanical Project Engineer works closely with internal stakeholders, engineering consultants, contractors, and operations teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and sustainable project outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities for capital and sustaining projects from concept development through construction and commissioning.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution strategies.
• Review and integrate engineering deliverables, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Track project progress, budgets, risks, and key milestones.
• Develop and maintain project execution plans and schedules.
• Support design, evaluation, and implementation of mechanical systems for mining and processing facilities, including:

o  Crushing and conveying systems

o  Material handling equipment

o  Piping systems

o  Pumping systems

o  Water management infrastructure

o  Process plant equipment

o  HVAC and building mechanical systems

o  Bulk material storage and transfer systems

• Review equipment sizing, selection, specifications, and vendor proposals.
• Coordinate mechanical design interfaces with civil, electrical, mining, environmental, and operations teams.
• Ensure designs are aligned with operational requirements, maintainability, and reliability objectives.
• Provide field engineering support during construction and installation activities.
• Monitor contractor performance and compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct field inspections and verify work quality and installation standards.
• Support equipment testing, commissioning, startup activities, and system handover.
• Coordinate punch-list management and issue resolution.
• Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to company health and safety practices.
• Ensure mechanical engineering activities comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

·      Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering experience in mining, mineral processing, industrial facilities, infrastructure, energy, or heavy industrial projects.

·      Experience working with engineering consultants and construction contractors.

·      Knowledge of mechanical equipment is commonly used in mining and processing operations.

·      Strong understanding of, rotating equipment, pumping systems, process piping, material handling systems, mechanical equipment installation, and reliability and maintenance principles

·      Experience with project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and cost management.

·      Ability to review engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and vendor documentation.

·      Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Physical Demands

·      Ability to understand, follow, and communicate work assignments, procedures, and safety requirements in English. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, and lift or carry up to 10 pounds.

• Must be able to pass mandatory employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws

·      Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.

·      Demonstrated ability to safely operate four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles in remote and rugged terrain.

·      Must have legal authorization to work in the United States, or the ability to achieve authorization without financial support of the Company
