ROLE DETAILS:

The Human Resources Advisor (Employee Relations) provides expert advice and support to managers and employees on a broad range of employee relations matters, including the intake, assessment, and coordination of workplace investigations. The role promotes fair, consistent, and legally compliant workplace practices while fostering a positive, respectful, and inclusive organizational culture.

• Prevent pollution and minimise waste generation through reduced consumption and increased re-use and recycling.


Stakeholder Requirements

• To foster friendly and professional working relationships with all external Stakeholders/contacts.

This includes landholders, members of the local community, contractors and visitors.  Operate in accordance with Company’s Stakeholder Policy.

Specific Departmental Requirements:

• Provide HR Advisor support to site personnel, delivering timely guidance on employee relations, HR policies, and employment practices.

• Conduct workplace investigations, prepare detailed reports, and partner with department managers on performance management, corrective actions, and appropriate outcomes.

• Prepare and process employment documentation, maintain accurate personnel records, and perform HRIS and employee data entry with a high degree of accuracy.

• Collect, analyze, and interpret market compensation data to support compensation and benefits programs, salary reviews, and pay recommendations.

• Coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, selection, onboarding, and new hire orientation in line with operational requirements and budget.

• Research and interpret federal, state, and company employment laws, regulations, and policies, providing practical HR guidance and recommendations to management.

• Prepare professional reports, correspondence, and presentations while maintaining confidential employee files, records, and databases.

• Effectively prioritize competing deadlines, work independently with minimal supervision, and adapt to changing business and operational priorities.

• Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams to support a positive workplace culture and ensure compliance with company policies and employment legislation.

• Preparation monthly reports for corporate and site operations.

• Other duties as required.


Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a Human Resources Generalist or HR Advisor role with demonstrated expertise in employee relations, workplace investigations, recruitment, HR administration, and compliance.

• Professional HR certification (PHR or SPHR) preferred.

• Strong knowledge of US and Alaska employment laws, including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, and FLSA

• Possess valid US Driver’s License.

• Ability to pass a background check and post-offer physical.


Desired Experience & Competencies

• Minimum five (5) years' experience in a Human Resources Advisor, HR Generalist, or Employee Relations role.

• Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations, managing employee relations matters, and providing practical HR advice to leaders.

• Experience supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and offboarding.

• Experience interpreting and applying U.S. federal and state employment laws, with knowledge of Alaska employment legislation considered an asset.

• Strong understanding of employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, HR compliance, and employment legislation.

• Working knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), with experience using ADP, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat DC preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Experience supporting compensation reviews, HR reporting, and maintaining accurate employee records.

• Must successfully pass a post-offer physical, drug screening, and background check.

• Possess valid US Driver’s License.
