HR Generalist
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist administers the daily operations of the HR function and supports the full employee lifecycle. Responsibilities include recruiting and onboarding, assisting with compensation reviews, coordinating benefits enrollment and administration, and managing employee leave requests in compliance with company policy and applicable laws.
This role serves as a resource to employees and supervisors on HR policies and procedures, supports employee relations and performance management processes, maintains accurate personnel records, and promotes a positive workplace culture. A strong understanding of the Company’s values, policies, and operational environment is essential, along with sound judgment, confidentiality, and a commitment to compliance.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, and continuing education
· Responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, facilitating training and offboarding
· Responsible for maintaining and protecting employee information including personal records and compensation
· Assists in benefit management
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors
· Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding policies, pay, benefits, and procedures.
· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
· Support leadership with HR reporting, data tracking, and workforce metrics
· Maintains confidentiality and understands when issues should be escalated to upper management
· Ensure leaders are held accountable for performance evaluations for their respective direct reports
· Assist in organizing leadership development sessions or site training events
· Oversee the daily workflow of the department
· Provide back-up coverage for various roles within the Human Resources Department as required
· Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
· Associate’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred
· Professional HR certification strongly preferred
· Minimum of 5 years in an equivalent Human Resources position, preferably in mining, construction, manufacturing or industrial operations
